A lot of people say they love animals, but then, when they come across one that has a scar, has a big leg, or has any sort of deformities, they don't want anything to do with it. This story tells of one sweet soul with an opposite view.

bigfoot3 Coffee the big foot rabbit

by Abbie
bigfoot2 My sister bought a rabbit and I decided that I wanted one too, so I went to picked one out from a breeder near my home.
The first one that caught my fancy was a small fluffy
(did I say fluffy, he was more like a furry) bunny that I liked.
I sat down and petted it and soon relised that there was                                 something peculiar about this rabbit. I soon found that one hind                                 leg was a lot bigger than the other one as well as a bit deformed. bigfoot1 That did not deter me one bit, I fell in love with the odd yet sweet little creature and took it home.

Finding a name for him was quite a task. I tried "Big foot" but that didn't cut it. After some time, the name Coffee came to mind and, so it was,
Coffee the big foot rabbit.
I grew very fond of him as he would follow me around the house adoringly, coming to a stop every time I did and loved to be fed from my hand. He had become a legend with my friends, he would always run and hop, his leg never seemed to bother him (afterall he was borned with it, so it was quite natural). A year went by and he had slowed, he was older now and he knew it. one day a saw that he would not eat, it was strange because he would always eat like a horse.

A week went by and he was getting weaker and thinner, and one night we put him in a box with a small piece of cloth were he could sleep. The next morning when I went downstairs to check on him, he wasn't moving, no sign of life. I nudged him a bit just as a mother would to her sleeping child. But alas, poor "Coffee the big foot rabbit" was gone, his dear sweet life ebbed over night and came to an end.

Yes folks, he was gone to the great big carrot patch in animal heaven.
It was a sad time for me and often times I consider him as my very own legend. How I miss him so very much and hope that one day soon I will get another small fluffy bunny that I will like as much as I did "Coffee the big foot rabbit".
