For this week’s unusual pet, we bring you the skunk. Skunks are infamous for their smell but this need not be a worry for a pet skunks owner as the skunk’s scent glands are removed from domestic animals when the skunk is about 4 weeks old.
Similar to cats, skunks can also be litter trained and typically live on a diet of vegetables and dry food supplement. If you are thinking of owning a skunk then you may have to think twice as only a few states in America actually allow skunks to be kept as pets.
A skunk pet is also a long-term ownership prospect as skunks can generally live for about 10 years.
